On 1 October 2010 the Equality Act 2010 will become law. The Act is the largest overhaul of UK discrimination law in years and all health sector organisations will need to be aware of its implications and the changes it brings, particularly in the area of disability discrimination. The Agency Workers Regulations 2010 are also due to come into force on 1 October 2011 and health sector organisations should use the time between now and their implementation to consider the implications for their organisation and prepare accordingly. For instance will bank workers be covered by the Regulations and, if so, what steps needs to be taken to ensure the Regulations are properly implemented?
