What can I do for you?

I have a wide experience of most areas of agricultural property work, including the acquisition and disposal of farms and estates for investors and occupiers and rural property development. I also advise on specialist matters such as mineral leases, renewable energy projects, the grant and reservation of easements and sporting rights and agricultural tenancies.

Supporting my clients’ objectives

I work in one of the largest agricultural property teams in the UK, supported by specialist lawyers in areas such as private and corporate tax, planning, environment, banking, corporate, employment and disputes. This means that we have the resources and expertise to handle large and complex transactions, often to very tight timescales. But we never lose sight of the fact that our clients want us to be responsive and accessible and that they need to be confident that we are ready to deal with the unexpected. One of my clients asked me to advise on the purchase of a large property, where the seller had imposed a completion deadline of five working days. Within a few hours, I had assembled a team, including not only agricultural lawyers but employment and corporate tax specialists, and together we were able to deliver the deal on time.

What do others say?

Chambers UK notes that “With the biggest agricultural practice in the region, this team provides a ‘first-rate and extremely efficient service’ to its national client base.” But, as well as our efficiency, clients appreciate our practical and personable approach and the fact that we will go the extra mile to help them achieve their objectives. Following a recent complex transaction, the client told me that he really appreciated my “great effort” to get it finalised.
