What can I do for you?
I lead the Mills & Reeve health and care group. Running a team of enthusiastic, experienced experts is an exhilarating role. Our health clients are a key sector for Mills & Reeve and I aim to ensure that we provide them with a leading edge service.
In addition, I am heavily involved with my own specialism - PFI/PPP schemes, project funding and the primary care sector. I have advised on numerous significant projects across a wide range of sectors and have a particular interest in NHS estates strategy and in the NHS LIFT initiative.
Supporting my clients’ aims
A real highlight for me was working on several projects for one of our key health specialist funders. We ensured that we worked seamlessly alongside those advising the other parties to overcome obstacles such as planning issues, funding priorities, reluctant participants and problematic third party rights.
We helped our client to take the right approach and evaluate risks. This meant that we completed the project successfully and enhanced their reputation in the marketplace as a pragmatic party to deal with. This undoubtedly contributed to our client's increased standing and promoted subsequent opportunities for further investment.
What do others say?
Chambers UK says: “Peers praise Bridget’s straightforward approach, while clients rate her as ‘an extremely personable and hands-on adviser’”, and that I am known for my “excellent healthcare knowledge and commercial acumen”.
What else should you know?
I frequently present at national conferences and chair high level health round table discussions. I have provided master class training to senior health estates managers in Northern Ireland.
On the international side I recently presented on the UK healthcare system at a healthcare conference taking place in Düsseldorf. I support our firm’s work with the China-Britain Business Council and am leading our health sector work in and from China.
We are delighted to be sponsors for Cambridge Health Network a forum for leading players in health to meet informally.
Finally, I take a particular interest in mental health. As well as being Vice Chair for West Norfolk Mind, I lead an initiative which we introduced to support the health and well-being of colleagues at Mills & Reeve.
