What you need to know about the Companies Act 2006
The Companies Act 2006, the biggest shake-up in corporate law for a generation, passed onto the statute books on 8 November 2006. At 1,300 sections, the Act is the longest ever to pass through Parliament. Some provisions are live now, others will be introduced over the coming months and the remainder will be in force by 1 October 2009.
All UK companies will be affected by the Act. Companies will have to tackle changes in their policies and procedures. If you want to make the most of the benefits offered by the new regime you may need to amend your company's constitutional documents. We would be happy to help you and your company with this and are providing bespoke training on the Act for those who are interested.
We are producing regular e-bulletins which focus on important aspects of the Act and highlight when particular provisions go live. If you would like to subscribe to these bulletins, to learn how your company will be affected, please contact Tracey.Atkins@mills-reeve.com.
