What can I do for you?

If you have a dispute about a construction or engineering project, I can help you to sort it out. This may mean getting a decision from an adjudicator or judge. Or I can set up a mediation for you. But it may also mean just telling you your rights so you can negotiate, knowing where you stand.

Supporting my clients’ objectives

My recent work has included negotiating the settlement of a dispute with a joint venture partner for a London Borough, multiple adjudications for a borough council on a highways contract and advising an NHS trust on a dispute with a main contractor relating to delay and loss and expense on the construction of a medical school in the Midlands.

I have also advised an asbestos removal sub-contractor on disputes with a demolition contractor in Manchester, worked on multiple adjudications for a fire and security sub-contractor at Canary Wharf and advised a Cambridge University college on disputes with engineers and contractors on the construction of student accommodation.

Other highlights include advising a primary care trust following a proposal for corporate voluntary arrangements by a main contractor, multiple adjudications for a developer of leisure facilities on the East coast and adjudications for a mechanical and electrical sub-contractor at Wembley National Stadium.

What do others say?

The "truly superb" Edward Callaghan heads the contentious offering at the firm. "Excellent to work with," he possesses a "killer punch when needed." When it comes to adjudications, "his skills are beyond reproach." (Chambers UK)

Sources value the way this experienced solicitor "quickly picks up a case and gets things done effectively, with the minimum of fuss." (Chambers UK)

"great with clients, ever helpful" (Legal 500)

"quick and concise with his advice," clients are particularly keen to praise his work on construction disputes. (Chambers UK)

But my favourite comment came from a client’s opponent: “I wish I’d had you on my side.”

What else should you know?

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Society of Construction Law and the Technology and Construction Solicitors' Association.

I am also a trained mediator and a registered construction adjudicator, which means I know what’s needed to get your case across.
