What can I do for you?
I am a senior solicitor specialising in the resolution of family disputes. I provide advice both in relation to issues arising on relationship breakdown (divorce, separation and civil partnership dissolution) and regarding issues relating to children (such as residence and contact disputes). I also advise people on the contents of pre-nuptial and pre-civil partnership agreements. Much of my work involves complex financial issues, including trusts and corporate structures, often with an international dimension.
Achieving my clients’ objectives
All clients are different and they look for different things from their solicitors. I recognise this and look to work with my clients, therefore, to identify exactly what is really important to them and what it is that they would like from me. I aim to provide clear, constructive and pragmatic advice, designed to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients.
What do others say?
We are very proud of our family law team at Mills & Reeve and we were delighted when our expertise was recognised at the Legal Business Awards in 2009, when we won Private Client Team of the Year. The Leeds based part of our team is ranked top in the region by Legal 500, which describes us as "efficient, principled and strong in depth". Chambers UK similarly puts us in the top tier, commenting that our clients know that they will be "well looked after".
What else should you know?
Before relocating to Yorkshire and joining Mills & Reeve in 2008, I spent several years working at one of the leading family law practices in central London, where I was involved in a number of high profile High Court cases. As a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors in Family Law Association), I am committed to promoting a constructive, sensible and cost effective approach to resolving family disputes. I am also a fully trained collaborative lawyer. Collaborative family law is a relatively new, highly personalised and inclusive approach to the resolution of family disputes.
Our family law team also runs the website, www.divorce.co.uk, a free and comprehensive internet resource for those going through divorce or separation. For further details, click here to view my divorce law profile.
