What can I do for you?

I am a solicitor specialising in resolving family disputes. I provide advice both in relation to issues arising on relationship breakdown (divorce, separation and civil partnership dissolution) and in relation to issues relating to children (such as residence and contact disputes). I also advise people on the contents of pre-nuptial and pre-civil partnership agreements. Much of my work involves complex financial issues, including trusts and corporate structures, often with an international dimension.

Achieving my clients’ objectives

My clients are usually looking for help in resolving a difficult situation so that they can move on with their lives, whether that is by securing a financial arrangement providing them with financial independence and security or by finding a way to communicate effectively with their former partner in relation to their children. To help them do this, I provide constructive and pragmatic advice while being sensitive to each client’s unique wishes and priorities. I look to achieve an agreement between parties wherever reasonably possible, but my advice is always given with a view to achieving the best possible results for my clients.

What do others say?

We are very proud of our family team at Mills & Reeve and were delighted when this was recognised at the Legal Business Awards, where we won Private Client Team of the Year 2009. We aim to provide excellent clear advice tailored to the individual needs of our clients. Chambers UK describes us as having “a formidable reputation for providing cost-effective advice in the local market” and that we are quoted by our peers as being “just excellent at every level”.

What else should you know?

Before relocating to Yorkshire and joining Mills & Reeve, I spent a number of years working at one of the leading family law practices in central London, where I was involved in several high profile High Court cases. I am a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors in Family Law Association), an organisation consisting of more that 5,000 members committed to promoting a constructive, sensible and cost effective approach to resolving family disputes. Our team also runs www.divorce.co.uk, the UK’s premier free resource for those going through divorce or separation.
