What can I do for you?
I am a commercial lawyer with almost 20 years' experience providing advice on commissioning, contracting, governance, procurement, funding and legal structures to all types of healthcare organisations. Previously a partner and head of the commercial health practice with Mills & Reeve I was delighted in early 2014 to assume the newly created role supporting our health clients on managing strategic projects.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
I have worked on a number of transformational projects for the NHS. These include supporting local organisations on the implementation of transforming community services, as well as leading on national projects: most recently in partnership with the Department of Health on the new Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Goods and Provision of Services.
Given the financial pressures on the NHS and the increasing focus on redesigning care pathways and organisational change, I support and guide clients in "thinking outside the box", project management and in delivering solutions that are right for clients and their local health economy.
What do others say?
Having led a large team of lawyers, I ensure we build lasting relationships with our clients. Commitment and enthusiasm of the entire team underpins our success. This means we receive frequent feedback commending the team for its expertise and approach, timeliness, ability to meet the most challenging of deadlines and a cost effective service. Our aim is to provide outstanding client service so that all work could be commented on as follows: “As ever thanks very much for your detailed and considered advice this is very helpful”.
What else should you know?
For more than 20 years I have been involved in the third sector as an employee and then as a trustee of various charities. I am currently a strategic advisor to NHS Central Eastern Commissioning Support Unit, a non-executive director of the CHS Group, a provider of social housing, and a governor of a large secondary school. This work is helpful for my clients as it keeps me up to date on the wider policy agenda and ensures I have a practical understanding of the governance of large organisations and of organisational development. I also write and lecture extensively on health legal and policy matters.
