I specialise in resolving complex commercial disputes and lead the commercial disputes team. I enjoy helping clients to sort out their business disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration or litigation. I particularly enjoy enforcing or defending clients’ rights in line with their commercial objectives. I act for a broad range of clients: public and private companies, public bodies and institutions (particularly universities and health) and foreign law firms and their clients. The variety of the work involved makes it really interesting: from fraud investigations to product recalls; international internet gaming disputes to corporate warranty claims and shareholder and partnership disputes; commercial contract advice to injunction applications to freeze assets and protect intellectual property and confidential information. I have a broad network of international contacts that I can call upon to benefit my clients.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
We recently obtained High Court injunctions to protect a client’s confidential information, which involved a team of us working round the clock. The client complimented us on a “fantastic job, well done.“ We recently settled another claim for a fraction of the amount claimed following rigorous testing of the other side’s case in mediation. The client was delighted with the result and complimented our strategy and mastery of the voluminous paperwork. Much of my work has an international element. We recently settled a complex $25 million claim in ICC arbitration proceedings involving 12 parties in six jurisdictions. I enjoy getting to understand a client’s business and working with them to agree a strategy that delivers their commercial objectives.

I am an accredited mediator and a member of the Chartered Association of Arbitrators and the International Bar Association. I coordinate the firm’s international practice.
