International work

In a global market, we expect to assist our clients wherever they do business. Many of our clients have global businesses, and some of them derive over 90 per cent of their revenue outside the UK. We represent many overseas clients wishing to establish their businesses in the UK, as well as those businesses in the UK with planned growth into foreign markets. Our lawyers have been involved in international transactions for our clients in over 60 different jurisdictions in the last two years.

Resources

We have a network of trusted advisers in most countries around the world. Our international offering is significantly enhanced through membership of the prestigious State Capital Group (SCG)*, which provides ready access to around 11,500 lawyers in a global network of more than 140 leading independent law firms in 160 jurisdictions, in 300 cities around the globe, eclipsing the offering of firms with international satellite offices. We have developed relationships of mutual trust and commitment with these firms over many years. We can refer to and work with whichever firm best meets the requirements of our clients.

Experience

Many of our lawyers are fluent in other languages, including French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Mandarin and Urdu. Many of our lawyers also have experience of practising in other jurisdictions including China, India and the USA. Membership of the SCG affords a proximity to the local culture overseas as well as a depth of awareness and understanding of legal developments. Our experience is backed by reciprocal secondments and training programmes with the SCG and other law firms, including recent secondments to Shanghai, Bangalore and Qatar. ensuring we understand different cultural and commercial needs to help our clients navigate a complex and ever changing legal landscape.
