What can I do for you?

I am a partner in our corporate team. The thing which I like most about my job is working alongside clients to shape and then conclude their deals. The first step is always getting to know our client's business and understanding their commercial drivers. Then we can assemble a team and use the tools we have developed to deliver our client's project on time and on budget. 

Supporting my clients’ ambitions

Working on a deal and meeting a demanding timetable requires energy and teamwork. It also requires a commercial and pragmatic approach. We work hard from the outset, listening to our clients and making sure our approach and our team are tailored to their needs and their objective. We focus on issues that are important and will make a difference.

My role is to lead our team and be the first port of call for our client on all issues. I have a track record of delivering transactions on time, on budget and always in a way that is client focused. A recent transaction that I enjoyed was helping a financial services client which was buying a group that included overseas companies. We worked alongside our client's in-house team and their lawyers in other countries to push forward the documents and to achieve a coordinated and favourable outcome. All the time, we were able to maintain constructive working relationships with the other law firms involved (and their clients) to ensure that the newly merged businesses got off to a flying start with their working relationship and spirit of collaboration intact.

Ask our competitors and our clients and they will all say we are straight talking but approachable and friendly. Chambers UK and the Legal 500 both rank our eastern region corporate finance team on its own in first place. We are described in Chambers as having "a stellar reputation" and being "the number-one practice in East Anglia for a truly comprehensive corporate finance offering". The other main directory, Legal500, says we have "unmatched strength in depth". I am described as being "an able negotiator praised for his user-friendliness, proactivity and pragmatism".

We keep our clients and ourselves up to date with industry specific and technical issues by using our membership of various organisations, such as BVCA and the East of England Energy Group.
