As a chartered secretary at Mills & Reeve, my work includes advising company secretaries of large listed and private companies and interim support for large projects. I also assist the corporate team on technical company secretarial and Companies Act matters.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
I have supported clients by providing technical guidance on the Companies Act 2006, advising on directors duties and drafting new articles of association and AGM documentation. Additionally I have advised on directors’ conflicts of interest to pension trustees and training to the directors of spin out companies at the University of East Anglia. Another highlight was the opportunity to go on secondment to May Gurney Integrated Services plc, as Interim Pensions Manager and Archant Limited, as Assistant Company Secretary. Both secondments enabled me to gain in-depth knowledge of their businesses.

I am an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. I have in-house experience of corporate reorganisations, acquisitions, intellectual property disputes, project management, board meetings, annual general meetings and investor relations.
In 2008 at the request of our clients and working with the chartered secretaries of Anglian Windows Limited and May Gurney Integrated Services plc, I set up an ICSA group for company secretaries in Norfolk and Suffolk. The group aims to provide opportunities for networking and continuing professional development as well as developing relationships with other professional bodies.
