What can I do for you?
I am an associate in our projects team, specialising in PFI and PPP projects in the health, education and local authorities sectors. I advise public and private sector clients and funders on all aspects of the PFI/PPP process. This includes guiding clients through the often complex tender process and drafting and negotiating the detailed contracts.
I also specialise in EU procurement law and provide regular training to clients on this area.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
A real highlight for me was leading on the Brentwood Hospital PFI project. This involved steering the project through the tender process and conducting negotiations on behalf of the NHS primary care trust to resolve legal and commercial issues. It also involved ensuring compliance with the EU procurement regulations and Department of Health requirements and guidance.
Another highlight for me has been my recent work on outsourcing contracts for a number of local authorities. Some of these have involved the use of joint venture vehicles and complex EU procurement issues. My team ensured that the local authorities met their objective of obtaining an appropriate level of risk transfer as well as value for money. One of the most satisfying aspects of this and other projects has been the skills transfer we have been able to provide to our clients.
What do others say?
Our team has a reputation for being friendly, approachable and commercial, and for understanding our clients’ needs. The Legal 500 says that we have “very good sector knowledge – better than most competitors”.
My clients have described the quality of service I provide as “excellent” and have commented on my “calm and friendly approach” and “ability to deliver projects to timetable”.
What else should you know?
I am a regular speaker at seminars on EU procurement law and can also provide tailored training courses to clients on this area of law.
