What can I do for you?
I specialise in commercial and procurement advice, in particular around technology outsourcing projects. My work includes helping technology customers – such as plcs, government departments and industry regulators – negotiate software licensing and development contracts and to outsource the provision of ICT services. As part of one of the UK’s largest and most successful technology teams, I also work with a number of leading technology suppliers, helping them protect and exploit their intellectual property internationally.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
I really enjoy helping clients achieve their goals around technology, and find that applying a lawyer’s eye to the technical and commercial aspects of deals is often where I can add real value. As a technology lawyer, I find that knowing my LAN from my WAN means that I can help a customer ask the right questions about what they are buying and the services that come with it, and help technology suppliers promote their offering while protecting their position. And I get to find out what’s new in the world of technology, which is really exciting.
What do others say?
Legal 500 says I am “'a real expert’ on ICT procurement”, which gives me something to live up to! My clients welcome my team’s approach to getting the job done efficiently and on time, as well as our pragmatic and commercial advice on procurement and contract issues.
What else should you know?
I am an active member of the IT supplier’s association, Intellect, as well as the Society for Computers and Law. I set up our Procurement Portal website and also write occasional posts for our technology law blog, Naked Law.
