Mills & Reeve are proud to sponsor Anna Turney, who will travel to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Paralympic games, representing TeamGB in her sport of Alpine sit-skiing.
Anna’s selection is all the more remarkable as it is only four years ago, in Japan, that Anna’s life changed forever when she over shot a 30 foot tabletop, whilst snowboarding. Anna shattered her lower thoracic spine and a few ribs along with her dreams of becoming a professional snowboarder. Anna transferred her natural ability for snowboarding to the sit-ski, and along with courage, determination and commitment she is now on the brink of her Olympic dream.
Athletes from 40 countries participate in alpine skiing at the Paralympics, in both standing and sitting categories. The slalom and the giant slalom (the event for which Anna won a silver medal in New Zealand in 2009) were included in the very first Paralympics in 1976 and the medals will no doubt be fiercely contested.
Mills & Reeve would also like to extend their thanks, on behalf of Anna, to all our clients and colleagues who have generously donated to Anna’s fundraising efforts. This money has made a real difference and any further donations to Anna are still welcome via her website
