The Mills & Reeve family team in Manchester has sponsored a prize in a Family Law essay writing competition for Manchester law students.
The students were asked to write an essay entitled “The future of the family justice system”. The winning essay was written by Alex Wright of the College of Law. Alex considered the law relating to civil partnerships which continues to evolve following the Civil Partnership Act 2004, and the rights of unmarried couples on separation, an area of the law which is in urgent need of reform.
Alex will be presented with his prize, a cheque for £100, at a drinks reception at the Resolution National Conference on 12 March 2010, by Alison Bull of Mills & Reeve . Alison is the Chair of the Manchester Area Resolution. Alex will also benefit from a week’s work experience in the Manchester office of Mills & Reeve.
