We have been appointed by Kingston University after a competitive tender, advising on a number of heavyweight areas, including real estate, employment and discrimination.
The London university, which has around 20,000 students, is considered to be one of the country's leading modern universities, with a particularly strong record in graduate employment.
A team of three partners – Nicola Brown, Gary Attle and Richard Noble – led the tender process for the three-year contract.
"We are very pleased to have been appointed by Kingston," said Nicola, who specialises in employment issues for universities. "The university has an excellent reputation for teaching quality and as a pioneer in e-learning so we are delighted to be working with such an innovative organisation.
"We are looking forward to a close collaboration over the next three years."
Mills & Reeve already has a strong client list of education institutions and will be fielding a high-level team to work on the new contract.
"The university will have access to an enormous amount of experience and expertise," said Nicola. "The appointment to Kingston University builds on our already strong London client base of colleges and universities."
The university, which has an annual income of £150 million, is spread over four campuses in and around Kingston on Thames and has seven faculties. Its history goes back to 1899, when it was founded as the Kingston Technical Institute, becoming a leading polytechnic in 1970 and then a university in 1992.
Kate Allan of Kingston said: "We are very impressed by the depth of knowledge and expertise which Mills & Reeve is able to offer in the education sector. As a university spread over four campuses, with a large number of staff and students, employment and real estate issues are very important to us, and we look forward to working closely with the firm on these and other matters."
