What can I do for you?
Since joining Mills & Reeve in 2007, I have specialised in commercial work, which is complex and diverse. My work includes advising clients – such as professional services firms, limited liability companies and organisations within the public sector – on a wide range of commercial issues, including competition law and consumer credit.
Supporting my clients’ ambitions
I have recently drafted and negotiated a complex supply agreement for a client who was procuring the services of an overseas supplier. This was a very important agreement for the client, in terms of financial implications as well as the level of risk involved. The supplier with whom we were dealing was extremely demanding and I had to ensure that my client’s position was protected, particularly in relation to issues such as data protection, confidentiality and protection of its intellectual property rights. The agreement was drafted and negotiated within a very tight timescale and it was rewarding to see the agreement completed and signed on time and to receive feedback from the client several weeks later that the agreement with the supplier was working well.
What do others say?
It is encouraging to receive feedback from clients saying that advice I have given has been useful and has helped them to bring about a prompt and successful conclusion to negotiations. Our aim is to give advice that actually provides advice, not only identifying possible courses of action that may be available to a client, but also giving an opinion as to which one is likely to achieve the most commercially beneficial outcome.
I recently helped a client resolve a copyright dispute and was very pleased when she wrote to me afterwards saying: “… your excellent advice concerning the copyright position has brought about this speedy conclusion and I am most grateful to you for dealing with it so promptly”.
