Having worked for more than 25 years in the City of London and with Mills & Reeve, I have extensive experience of advising companies, entrepreneurs and management teams on the full range of corporate finance and M&A transactions. As well as sales and purchases, venture capital and private equity transactions, I also advise on tax efficient restructuring and demergers. These can be a valuable way of addressing some of the risk and succession issues affecting businesses and their owners in the current economic climate. I act for clients across a wide range of sectors but have a particular focus on food and agri-business companies.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
Corporate transactions are all about delivering the client’s objectives efficiently and in a way which balances risk and reward appropriately. I enjoy the process of discussing the underlying commercial objectives with clients, developing and negotiating clear but often complex legal documentation to implement those objectives. I aim to find practical solutions to the legal issues the transaction presents and focus on managing the legal team advising on the transaction to bring it to a successful conclusion.
