Our reinsurance team has a thorough understanding of the technical issues and complex relationships encountered by clients in the reinsurance market. These relationships, be it with reinsureds, reinsurers, retrocessionaires or brokers, are often developed over a number of years, and we are skilled in navigating through the potential minefield of a dispute to preserve those relationships where appropriate. Where that relationship has irretrievably broken down, we will assiduously prosecute claims and assist with improving your bottom line. Conversely, when defending claims, we are acutely aware that leakage through uncontrolled costs can adversely affect your claims ratio, and hence the cost of your cover, so we will always ensure that there are no surprises.

The strength you need
The team has strength in depth through its legal and practical experience over many years acting for reinsurance clients, ranging from Lloyd's Syndicates, brokers and London companies, to US and overseas reinsurers, intermediaries and run-off companies.
The team consists of seven lawyers and is based in our London office within walking distance of most of the insurers and reinsurers in the London market.
