What can I do for you?

I’m an associate in our technology and commerce team, providing commercial advice to both public and private sector clients. My work includes IT, telecoms and other specialist procurements and outsourcings, IT contracts, internet and e-commerce advice and technology licensing – from initial, strategic advice to final negotiations. Clients include FTSE 250 companies, niche technology manufacturers, industry regulators and health bodies.

Supporting my clients’ objectives

One of the best things about my job is the mix of people I get to work with – from techies and project managers to procurement teams and business owners. I really enjoy making sense of their business objectives, whether it’s exploiting their latest technology or replacing an outdated telecoms network, and translating the legal input into something that helps them achieve that in a pragmatic way. While I’m not an IT geek by training, an interest in new technologies serves me well in understanding the technicalities of what my clients want to do.

What do others say?

Clients tell me they appreciate my responsiveness, commitment and commercial approach. I’m a firm believer in building relationships with clients so my favourite comment, after a protracted and sometimes painful procurement negotiation, was that “it wouldn’t have been as much fun without you”. Some of my colleagues might translate that as “rather loud”...

What else should you know?

I’m a member of Intellect, the UK trade association for IT suppliers, and of the Society for Computers & Law.
