What can I do for you?
I am a member of our private tax team and have ten years' experience in advising a wide variety of clients, including landowners, entrepreneurs and professionals on their estate planning. A key feature of my work is advising clients on how they might protect their assets for the benefit of the next generation. This includes inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning, drafting and advising on wills and family settlements, administering estates and trusts and powers of attorney.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
One of the most important elements of my job is helping clients formulate their plans for succession. My aim is to steer my clients through the complicated tax regime and to assist them in understanding the options that are available to them.
The administration of high value estates is also a key part of my practice. I like to give genuine advice that is both clear and practical.
My recent work includes advising a farming family on the handover of assets to their children while ensuring that proper provision is retained for the older generation in their lifetime; successfully negotiating the availability of relief from inheritance tax on valuable assets (including business, agricultural and heritage property) during the administration of an estate; trust reorganisations designed to put particular assets in the control of one of the beneficiaries in a tax efficient way.
What do others say?
Chambers UK states "she is the consummate professional, whose first and guiding thought is for her client's well-being and best interests". Legal 500 describes me as "proficient, efficient" and "switched on". Clients have also praised my negotiation skills, commenting on my “tact and thoughtfulness” and my "approachable and humane” manner.
