The role

We are looking for two highly motivated junior solicitors to join our growing Real Estate development team.  This is a national team and we welcome applications from candidates who would like to be based in any of our Manchester, Norwich or Cambridge offices. This exciting role will mean you are part of a national team working on large-scale, residential-led projects as well as providing you with an opportunity to be involved and develop your skills in a wide range of RE work including landlord and tenant work, options, pre-emptions and overage agreements, development agreements and leases.

Areas of work

 Areas of work you will concentrate on are development work (excluding construction) with a specific emphasis on large-scale, residential-led projects.  This aspect of the role encompasses an opportunity to work on infrastructure agreements, land promotions and sales, overage and joint venture arrangements, large scale commercial lettings and complex title and structuring matters. In addition, you will work on property investment portfolio acquisitions and disposals acting for both buyers and sellers, as well as general property management for such portfolios (see below) - these transactions can be either property led (corporate RE) or corporate led (corporate support work), depending upon the structure and nature of the transaction. The work also involves general property management including landlord and tenant advice, surrenders, licences, wayleaves and easements

Experience needed

You will be an NQ+ with real estate experience gained in a City or large regional firm.

Skills and attributes

Good academics are required eg 2.1 degree or equivalent with good A level grades or equivalents.  You will have excellent written English and be able to produce clear, logical drafting.  Essential skills include negotiating skills, numeracy, IT literacy, together with good research skills including the ability to use online information sources.   In addition, you will have good attention to detail, possess lateral thinking and problem solving skills.  You will have effective time and matter management and a systematic approach to work, demonstrating flexibility to work with several team members.  Excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills are key, including the ability to work with others, influence and persuade. Finally, you will also have the ability to build good working relationships with clients and potential clients
