The role

We are looking for a highly motivated solicitor to join our growing Real Estate team in Manchester working with partners Mike Edge, Rachel Pitman and Caroline Hanratty and their team.   The role will involve working for a range of local and national clients with the opportunity for you to run your own transactions as well as being part of a team on large transactions.  The aim is to provide you with the opportunity to be involved and develop your skills in all areas of RE work: landlord and tenant work, agreements for sale, development agreements and leases, investment work and corporate RE/corporate support work.Areas of work you will concentrate on are property investment portfolio acquisitions and disposals acting for both buyers and sellers, as well as general property management for such portfolios (see below), general property management including landlord and tenant advice, surrenders, licences, wayleave and easements.  You will also undertake freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, together with property related corporate support work

The person

You will be an NQ+ with real estate experience gained in a City or large regional firm. 

Skills and attributes

Good academics are required eg 2.1 degree or equivalent with good A level grades or equivalents.  You will have excellent written English and be able to produce clear, logical drafting.  Essential skills include negotiating skills, numeracy, IT literacy, together with good research skills including the ability to use online information sources.   In addition, you will have good attention to detail, possess lateral thinking and problem solving skills.  You will have effective time and matter management and a systematic approach to work, demonstrating flexibility to work with several team members.  Excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills are key, including the ability to work with others, influence and persuade. Finally, you will also have the ability to build good working relationships with clients and potential clients
