Marketing and Events Executive

The role

The role is responsible for the successful planning and execution of events in the London office, and as required other offices. This includes advising teams on how to ensure their events achieve their business development goals working within best practice guidelines.Success in this job requires getting cooperation from a wide range of people from across the Marketing team, the firm more widely and external suppliers. IT systems are central to our events processes.You will be one of a five-person events team, who work closely with and support each other. This is part of a 35-strong Marketing team. The team is based across the Birmingham, Cambridge, London, Manchester and Norwich offices.

Responsibilities

- Planning and delivering a successful portfolio of Marketing events - face to face, virtual and hybrid - in our London office - this means doing tasks yourself as well as finding support and delegating work.- Communication with internal and external contacts to make sure their expectations match what we are delivering.- Keeping your internal clients - the lead fee-earner and BD Adviser - up to date with how their events are progressing and what is expected of them.- Producing detailed plans for events (timelines, venue/rooms, internal clients and budgets).- Booking internal rooms or external venues and arranging catering and facilities for in-person and hybrid events.- Working with Comms, Tech and IT regularly to ensure smooth digital working processes- Managing the invitation process and monitoring responses.- Utilising social media to market events and to raise profile of the business- Training and guiding lawyers through the virtual and hybrid event process (rehearsals, using cameras, tips for presenters, sharing slides, polls etc)- Working with lawyers and EAs to ensure slides and delegate packs are produced to timescales and within the brand guidelines at in-person and hybrid events- Managing and reporting on event feedback and ensuring ROI for all events.- Attend all events to ensure the smooth running.- Editing webinar/hybrid recordings post-event, posting on the firms website and on socials as part of the BD process- Ensure that the firm CRM system is utilised throughout the event process to capture client data

The person

- Given the challenges of this role, it is likely that your background and experience will have:- Excellent IT skills - office software, web systems, client databases, Zoom, video editing software, YouTube- Excellent organisation and ability to delegate- Great communication skills- Attention to detail- Experience in an events/marketing role- Experience in a legal/professional services firm - desirable- Fantastic people skills and a can-do attitude

The role additionally requires someone who:

- is flexible for early starts and late finishes when events are planned- is self-managed and confident in setting and prioritising their own work agenda.- has excellent written as well as verbal communication skills and so is able to demonstrate that they can convey complex matters in a way that different audiences can understand- is confident and able to build sustainable relationships with clients, lawyers and internal colleagues is organised and methodical in how they approach their work- has excellent attention to detail- is a team player- is willing to take on new responsibilities and challenges
