What does the role involve?

We are looking for an experienced senior solicitor to cover a period of maternity commencing in March 2020. You will work within our Insurance Disputes National Service Line (“NSL”) based in our Manchester office.

You will provide a wide range of general and specialist insurance coverage and claims defence advice requiring excellent knowledge of the London insurance market, Lloyds regulatory issues, coverage and policy interpretation as well as up to date knowledge of court and dispute resolution process and strategy. You will have excellent team working and leadership skills and you will be comfortable managing a caseload of complex work advising both insurers and their insureds.

Areas of work are:

  • Professional indemnity, including solicitors, barristers, accountants and brokers.
  • Construction professional indemnity including architects, engineers, design & build contractors and other construction professionals.
  • Coverage on primary and excess layers

Client base

  • An enviable list of major insurers, MGAs and Lloyds syndicates
  • Insureds

What experience is required?

You will be 5+ years qualified with experience gained in a City firm or large regional firm. You will have a good background in commercial litigation and/or professional indemnity litigation, and insurance coverage disputes.

You will also be required to complete a self-declaration to access your character and suitability.
