What does the role involve?
We need a Senior Associate to join the Insurance Disputes team based in our London office on a 12 month fixed term basis. You will provide a wide range of general and specialist insurance coverage and claims defence advice requiring excellent knowledge of the London insurance market, Lloyds regulatory issues, coverage and policy interpretation as well as up to date knowledge of court and dispute resolution process ad strategy.
You will have excellent team working and leadership skills, have managed a team and be familiar with a variety of leadership tools and strategies.

What experience is required?
You will be 5+ years PQE with insurance experience gained in-house for a global insurer as well as in private practice at a large regional or City law firm.
What skills and attributes would I need?
Excellent written English and ability to produce clear, logical drafting
Lateral thinking and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with evidence of leadership experience
Evidence of working in house for an insurer, and the management of their claims and coverage portfolio, with particular regard to all aspects of the indemnity arrangements for legal practitioners including solicitors and barristers
Flexibility to work with and supervise team members
Effective time and matter management and a systematic approach to work
Proactive team player
Good research skills
An enthusiasm for marketing with clients and multipliers
Who would I be working with?
You will work with partners Niall Innes and Neil Howes and the wider London based partner group. The team is part of the firm-wide Insurance Disputes NSL, which is led by Stephen King, and supported by a professional support lawyer.
You will also work with other partners in the Insurance Disputes NSL on specific projects or as part of a wider client service team.
