Event description

In the next of our series of Talking Shop events, we will be looking back at 2020 and discussing the impact of the pandemic on the retail sector, highlighting in particular the key learning points for HR as well as celebrating the contribution made by the retail sector to the country’s efforts to navigate the pandemic.

We will be also be looking ahead and what to expect in 2021, looking in particular at:

  • the potential impact of Brexit;
  • on-going Government support schemes and the potential fall out when they finally close;
  • changes to the modern slavery reporting requirements (which may be particularly relevant to the retail sector given controversies earlier this year); and
  • the potential extension of redundancy protection for pregnant employees and new parents as well as other changes first mooted in the Good Work Plan that may finally come into force in 2021.

As always, the session will be led by Employment lawyers from Mills & Reeve’s dedicated retail sector team, with attendees and participants from across the sector.
