Event description

We are pleased to invite you to our Summer seminar Legal Malpractice - Going for the Jugular where we will look at some of the decisions from 2019 which provide Insurers with solid examples of where claims can be defeated (with a little effort!).

Lisa Taylor, a senior Principal Associate in our London team, will look at where the courts currently stand on loss of chance and how the wind of change is good news for insurers. A number of recent decisions, linked with longstanding case-law, act as significant weapons for defendants.

David Gooding, and our guest speaker Amanda Savage will look at the case of Clutterbuck v Brook Martin and Stephen Brook (2019). Mills & Reeve represented the Defendant law firm in a multi-million pound claim for alleged fraud and breach of trust and negligence, successfully striking it out.

David and Amanda’s take on their journey, and lessons learned, will be of interest to all.
