Event description

Our October session of The Box will be hosted by Ben Hardiman and Shay Williams.

Ben and Shay will review the Insurance Act 2015 through the lens of the recent High Court decision in George on High Limited v Alan Boswell Insurance Brokers Limited & New India Assurance Company Limited.  Claims involving brokers rarely make it to a reported status and this decision is helpful in assessing what information is deemed to fall within an underwriter’s knowledge at the proposal/renewal stage.

The webinar will focus on the following implications for brokers:

  • what insurers know or ought to know
  • the relevance of the duty of fair presentation when handling claims
  • risk management considerations for brokers arising from the decision.

If you require any adjustments to enable you to take part in this webinar, please let us know using our accessibility requirements form.
