What can I do for you?

I am a specialist family lawyer and a trained collaborative lawyer. I advise on all areas of family law, including divorce, arrangements for children and financial settlements. I can also assist at the outset of relationships, preparing and advising on pre and post nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements. My work often involves dealing with complex financial issues that arise on separation, including the treatment of business interests, complex trust arrangements and overseas assets.

I aim to assist my clients in resolving all issues arising out of the relationship breakdown in a conciliatory and constructive manner. However, where necessary, I have significant experience in litigating matters through the Courts, including acting for the Wife in the High Court case of AR v AR [2011] EWHC 2717 (Fam) and the Husband in MF v SF [2015] EWHC 1273 (Fam).

Supporting my clients’ objectives

I listen carefully to what my clients’ objectives are and guide them towards a process and a solution that helps meet those objectives. I believe there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to family law: each client and their particular circumstances are unique and each will have different priorities which will dictate how their case should be dealt with. My clients are at the centre of everything I do and I strive to deliver excellent client service to each and every one of them.

What do others say?

We are rightfully proud of our family team at Mills & Reeve, which is rated as first tier for family law in the leading independent legal directories Chambers UK and Legal 500. Chambers 2018 describes us as an "exemplary team” with "outstanding ability across complicated litigation as well as a variety of ADR methods".  Legal 500 2017 adds that we sit "at the top of the league as one of the go-to firms for heavy and complex family cases."

On a personal level I have been individually rated in both directories since 2013. Most recently, Chambers UK 2018 quoted one client as saying "she is solution-orientated.  She listens to what I say and acts on it.  She is also very understanding."  Legal 500 2017 quoted another source as commenting "has a very personable manner, can provide difficult advice when needed, and prepares matters meticulously".

What else should you know?

I trained and qualified with the firm and was delighted to return to my roots in Norfolk, and to the family law team in Norwich, in early 2016 after ten years in Yorkshire.

I belong to Resolution, an association of family lawyers committed to adopting a constructive approach to family cases. I sit on both the local Resolution committee and the national Litigants in Person Working Party. I regularly write articles on family law for a variety of professional publications.

Our family law team also runs, a website offering comprehensive, and free, advice to individuals on all aspects of relationship breakdown.
