ACEVO / NCVO call to contribute to their pre-election manifesto

NCVO (National Council for Voluntary Organisations) and ACEVO (Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations) are working together to produce a manifesto for charities and volunteering. They want charities, their experience and priorities, to be at the heart of decision making before and following the next election. The next general election is due within the next 20 months.

This manifesto will set out:

  • a vision for the society we want to see;
  • the role charities can play in getting us there; and
  • what charities and volunteers need to make a difference.

NCVO and ACEVO will use the manifesto to represent the charity sector at party conferences and will also make the manifesto available for charities to use in their own campaigning. They will be producing guidance to ensure charities can campaign within the rules.

A series of meetings are planned for June and July and the more charities, big or small, that can get their voices heard the better.
