BIM guidance from JCT

The Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) has published a practice note giving guidance on using building information modelling (BIM) in JCT contracts: “BIM and JCT Contracts”.

The practice note deals with using BIM in the JCT Design and Build Contract, 2016 Edition (DB 2016), specifically:

• the main contract provisions that may be affected;

• the issues that should be dealt with in the BIM protocol; and

• the items that should be addressed in the Employer’s Information Requirements at the pre-tender stage.
