National Security Investment Update for Universities

Universities and other research organisations should be aware of the National Security and Investment Act 2021 when collaborating with other parties to acquire, sell or develop certain organisations and assets, including IP commercialisation, spin-outs, research collaboration and funding.

Under this Act the Government has the power to prevent, add conditions to or unwind certain transactions if they pose a threat to national security.

On 25 May at 11am Nathalie Jacoby-Danesh and Simon Elsegood will deliver a 45 minute webinar on the Act for the higher education and research sector.

This webinar will give you the tools to assess whether your transactions require mandatory notification under the Act or whether a voluntary notification is advisable. We will be talking through some real life scenarios and if you would like to know more about this Act in the meantime, please read our previous blog.
