Coronavirus Act: temporary changes to NHS Continuing Healthcare assessments

With the Coronavirus Act receiving Royal Assent on 25 March, we have revisited our initial commentary on the Bill and the provisions relating to NHS CHC assessments.

We cannot see that any substantive changes have been made to the NHS CHC provisions contained in the Bill – these provisions are now neatly set out at Part 1 section 14 of Act and now in force.

The NHS CHC provisions in the Act focus on an easing of legislative and regulatory requirements where assessments are concerned to help with the flow of patients from a hospital setting, providing NHS providers with resources to focus on matters elsewhere in the healthcare system to try and address the pandemic.

Do get in touch if you require support with a CHC matter.
