What can you do for me?

The circumstances surrounding the breakdown of your relationship are unique. An experienced litigator, I am also a collaborative lawyer and family law mediator who will listen to your specific requirements to offer informed advice and a bespoke approach tailored to your circumstances to achieve the best possible outcome for you and your family.

My work involves complex financial and children work resolved either in litigation or by agreement, including in mediation or through collaborative law.

If you are in a relationship and would like to protect your position should the worst happen, I can draft living together and pre and post-nuptial agreements.

What makes you different from other divorce lawyers?

It’s not about me, it’s about you. I take time to really understand your circumstances, which enables me to focus on delivering advice and support to enable you to achieve the best outcome.

I have extensive courtroom experience, but am also a collaborative family lawyer and mediator and often resolve divorce proceedings without going to court. I am equally at home working with you to achieve a negotiated settlement outside of the court arena as I am representing you in highly contested court proceedings. It’s about you and what you want and need.

What do your clients say about you?

Many of my clients are friends and relations of former clients. One recently wrote "a tremendous asset to Mills & Reeve. Calm, assured, diligent and clearly very knowledgeable, Joanna performed superbly throughout the proceedings."

Another said I had been “fantastic throughout – efficient, pragmatic and clever."

Legal 500 describes me as being ‘clearly at ease with handling complex matters, while always putting the client at the forefront of every case’. Chambers High Net Worth Guide notes I am "’carving a real niche in London in that office. She is making a big impression with the judges in London,’ according to a QC, who also calls her ‘really bright and talented. She is very competent, and she's not at all fazed by the numbers. She is very resourceful in terms of bringing together disciplines to manage cases at that level; she can bring together all of that.’”

I am thrilled to be partner in a team about which Chambers High Net Worth reported “they are very able to deal with the complex cases, because of the depth of expertise and the strength of the team behind them. They have real strength in depth. The partners are excellent, but they have a really strong back-up team as well. They have so many different offices, and overall they're all brilliant..”

What involvement do you have in the local London community?

I belong to Resolution, an association of family lawyers committed to adopting a constructive approach to family cases; a group of Family Lawyer Mediators based in the City; and the Family Law Bar Association.

What else should I know about you?

Outside of the law, I am a wife, mother and a lamentable cook.
