Working in Cambridge

Insights from Karolina Labrenz, an administrative assistant working in our Cambridge office:

How would you describe the culture of your office?

The office is friendly and laid back.

What is the actual office like as a place to work in?

At the start of 2013 we moved to a new building; the office is open plan, which is nice as you interact more with your colleagues. There is a restaurant situated on the top floor with nice food and beautiful views.

What kind of hours do you work?

9.00am to 5.00pm

How long does it take you to get in to work?

Five minutes by bike.

What kind of social life do you enjoy with your colleagues?

Hiking, camping, tennis, travelling and concerts. I have also taken part in the 2013 ‘charity challenge’, which took place in the Lake District.

What is the best thing about working in Cambridge?

It is a beautiful city with amazing architecture. Our offices are also situated close to the Botanic Gardens so you can enjoy the nature as well as the hustle and bustle of city life.

What local bars and restaurants do you recommend?

The Cambridge Blue, The Pickerel, The Geldart, Alimentum, CB1 and The Oak Bistro.

What else is there to do in Cambridge?

During the summer you can enjoy punting on the river, walking around the city or have a BBQ at a local pub or in one of the parks. During the winter there are concerts to go to, comedy gigs and events at the university. You can still go punting on the river if you want to, you will just need a blanket and some mulled wine to keep warm!
