What can I do for you?

I am a Partner in Mills & Reeve’s insurance team and specialise in defending professional negligence claims on behalf of insurers and their insureds. I act for a wide range of professionals including solicitors, financial advisers, construction professionals and pension scheme administrators. My role also involves advising insurers on policy coverage issues and related disputes. I have extensive experience of claims involving fraud and of both making and defending applications for injunctions (including asset freezing orders and search and seizure orders).

The matters I deal with are often complex and high value disputes. I have a wide experience of court litigation and arbitration. That said, many of the cases I handle involve ADR (particularly mediation) at some stage. One of the things I enjoy about my job is addressing what can be very complicated and challenging issues.

Supporting my clients’ objectives

One of the reasons clients come back to us again and again is that we give them clear, “no-nonsense” advice and that we fight hard to secure them the best possible outcome. Key to our approach is the importance we place on identifying our clients’ objectives and likely risk areas right at the outset of a case. We then work closely with our clients to develop a “tailor-made” case resolution strategy which helps our clients achieve their objectives in the most cost-effective way possible.

What do others say about me?

A common thing said by our clients is that (as well as being hard-working and good at what we do) our lawyers are friendly and approachable. Clients also like the fact that we are a truly national insurance practice and can act for insureds throughout the UK through our teams in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Norwich and Leeds.

“Clients return to this firm time and again for its regional reach and the 'experience, dedication and tenacity' of the lawyers.” – Chambers UK.
