What can I do for you?

I am an employment law specialist and deal with all types of advice across the employment law spectrum. A large part of my work involves litigation and dispute resolution. This often involves me acting for employers in relation to complex disputes and discrimination claims, most of which are high value and some of which are high profile. I have dealt with a number of cases that have been heard by the Court of Appeal and the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

I also frequently advise clients on TUPE and the other employment law aspects of outsourcing and other commercial transactions.

Supporting my clients’ objectives

I lead on employment law issues for our health clients in the East of England and in London. I am frequently asked to advise on matters where specialist knowledge of the NHS is required, including complex executive director terminations and doctors’ disciplinary and performance cases. These cases require sensitive handling as well as detailed knowledge of law and NHS policy to make sure my client’s objectives are achieved.

I am enjoy supporting my clients by providing bespoke employment law training for them, and I often speak at national employment law conferences.

What do others say?

My expertise has been recognised by Legal 500, which said: “Stuart Craig is greatly valued for specialist NHS advice, recently including chief executives’ severance arrangements, and a national NHS body’s director dismissal requiring HM Treasury approval.”

My focus is, however, on building strong and enduring relationships with my clients and my favourite comments come from them. One client for whom I was able to help resolve a seemingly intractable dispute said: “Thank you as ever for your care and expertise in what has been a long and drawn out piece of litigation.”

My priority is to give concise advice that helps my client to make the right decision. I was very pleased when another client commented: “Thank you for your clear advice and direction on this, which has made the task much simpler.”

What else should you know?

I am a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

I currently serve on the Cambridgeshire District Law Society Committee as Parliamentary Liaison Officer for the South Cambridgeshire Constituency.
