Charitable giving

Our staff are determined fundraisers and each June they embark on an annual outdoor Charity Challenge. This year’s challenge, “The Lake District Scramble” will take place on 6 June 2015 and involve travelling 13.2km across Pike o Blisco, Bowfell and Crinkle Crags in one day. The chosen charity this year is Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research , a UK blood cancer charity working to beat blood cancer for over 50 years. To donate to this worthy cause please visit our JustGiving page.

In 2014 the challenge involved 75 staff climbing four 3,000ft mountains in Northern Wales in one day to raise money for CHICKS, which provides week long respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK, who would not otherwise have a break.

See for yourself how our staff battled the wind and rain to complete the challenge. Watch the video below or view it in a new window.

In 2012 it was a 'reverse jailbreak'. Sixty staff were abandoned in random Peak District locations and tasked with making the return journey back to HQ - over 20 miles away and in torrential rain. This raised over £12,000 for Macmillan Cancer Care.

Each year our offices decide on a local charity to fundraise for. Over the past few years, we’ve raised over £80,000 for causes such as The Rosie Hospital Campaign at Addenbrooke's in Cambridge, Wellchild, Age Concern, Teenage Cancer Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, the Big Bus Project, the Pink Rose Campaign and the Big C.

Our Charitable Trust supports a variety of causes ranging from support for Community Foundations through to match funding and donations for individual and group fundraising events. Each year we donate thousands of pounds to good causes primarily focused on charities and community groups for local people who are disadvantaged in some way.

As part of this programme, we began a three year project in 2012 with IntoUniversity. A core part of the project is an annual donation of £5,000 to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds gain access to higher education.

Over the last few years, we’ve increased our involvement with community foundations and are heavily involved with the Birmingham, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk Community Foundations’ Grassroots Challenge Schemes.
