We support our communities by providing them with funding from a variety of sources.
Our Charitable Trust supports a variety of causes ranging from support for Community Foundations through to match funding and donations for individual and group fundraising events. Each year we donate around £65,000 to good causes primarily focused on charities and community groups for local people who are disadvantaged in some way.
Over the last few years, we’ve increased our involvement with community foundations and are heavily involved with the Birmingham, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk Community Foundations’ Grassroots Challenge Schemes.
Our staff are also effective and determined fundraisers! Each year our offices decide on a local charity to fundraise for. Over the past few years, we’ve raised over £40,000 for causes such as The Rosie Hospital Campaign at Addenbrooke's in Cambridge, Wellchild, Age Concern, Teenage Cancer Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, the Big Bus Project, the Pink Rose Campaign and the Big C.
These projects, plus others, have also benefited from our annual Charity Challenge. Each June, a team from across the firm takes on an outdoor challenge. In 2011 the firm participated in the largest challenge to date; 'Mills & Reeve in the Mountains' involved 52 members of staff climbing Mount Snowdon, then completing a 12 mile cycle before finally testing themselves on a Go Ape tree top adventure course.
Meanwhile, the 'Pennine Accelerate' encouraged 40 employees to cycle trans-Pennine from Leeds to Manchester. Both events raised over £17,000 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Nearly 21 per cent of our staff participate in Workplace Giving. For the sixth year running we’ve been awarded a Gold Quality Mark for our outstanding commitment.
