What can I do for you?
I am a partner and joint national head of family at Mills & Reeve. If you are facing a personal relationship breakdown, my experience of over 30 years may be able to assist you in achieving a fair and cost-effective resolution to your difficulties whether divorce, separation or child-related. My work includes helping clients whose cases have an international element or where the asset base is complex, perhaps involving corporate structures, family trusts or pension arrangements. Other lawyers regard us particularly as being experts in pension sharing.
Pre-marital agreements are an increasing part of our work. I know that this is a sensitive area and believe that, if handled well, these agreements can offer maximum protection for you.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
We believe that most clients wish to reach a negotiated settlement which is fair to both sides. We know that you need to be listened to in how your case is approached. We do not believe in a one size fits all approach. What is right for one client is not right for another. Some cases can be resolved through negotiation, mediation or collaborative law; others need the involvement of the court. As far as we are concerned, a great outcome for the client is one in which you are fully involved having received clear and straightforward advice.
What do others say?
We are very proud of our family team at Mills & Reeve and were delighted when this was recognised at the Legal Business Awards, where we won Private Client Team of the Year 2009. We aim to provide excellent clear advice tailored to the individual needs of our clients. Chambers UK describes us as having “a formidable reputation for providing cost-effective advice in the local market” offering "London quality service at regional rates" and that we are quoted by our peers as being “just excellent at every level”. Legal 500 notes that we are "the bees knees of Yorkshire".
On a personal level, Chambers UK comments that interviewees describe me as “‘an absolute star’. An established name in family work, he continues to gain praise for his pre-eminent knowledge of the field, particularly with regard to pensions and complex financial matters” and that I am "highly intelligent and charming with a compendious knowledge of family law" while Legal 500 says that I am "pre-eminent" with "a fine legal mind and excellent client skills"
