What can I do for you?
I am a corporate solicitor with specialist experience in early stage investment work in the private equity and venture capital sectors as well as in corporate restructuring. I act for a wide range of clients, from venture capital funds, universities, technology transfer offices and business angels to entrepreneurs, companies and their officers. I also advise on a wide range of matters from the structure, setting up and running of a business or an investment fund through to financing, restructure, and exit. I have a particular interest in clean technology. I also have relevant experience advising on the restructure of family businesses on divorce.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
I find my work immensely satisfying. Deals may be high pressure – with tight timescales, budgetary constraints, complex share structures and parties with conflicting interests – but however pressurised the deal, the satisfaction of launching a new company or fund, completing a successful funding round, or negotiating the terms of a restructure, is its own reward.
Some of my most recent work includes advising on investment fund restructuring, including the management buy-out of one fund and the restructure of the carried interest vehicle of another. I also recently advised the IQ Capital Fund I LP and the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts (NESTA) on an aggregate investment of £2 million in Sirigen Limited, a company developing fluorescent amplification technologies for use with diagnostic tests.
