I specialise in resolving all types of commercial disputes using Alternative Dispute Resolution, with particular emphasis on disputes arising out of commercial contracts. I assist many different types of clients, from partnerships and owner managed businesses to public bodies and large multinational corporations. I have extensive experience of court procedure, obtaining emergency injunctive relief and conducting cases to trial. I have worked on numerous complex and high value disputes.
I have expertise in offshore disputes, particularly involving LOGIC (Leading Oil & Gas Industry Competitiveness) standard contracts (formerly CRINE conditions).
Supporting my clients’ objectives
A recent highlight for me was resolving a dispute over the ownership of a patent against a difficult opponent. Following an application for judgment before the trial judge, the opponent dropped all claims, agreed to transfer IP rights and to make a contribution towards our client’s costs. It was pleasing to achieve such a successful outcome which was of strategic importance to our client in the marketing of their innovative product.
