What can I do for you?

I’m a senior solicitor in our corporate team specialising in advising clients on buying or selling their company or business, providing clients with commercial advice and endeavouring to ensure that completion of the transaction is achieved as speedily and smoothly as possible.

I have experience working with clients in many industries, including insurance, dentistry, food, travel, medical and retail. I also advise on issues relating to company insolvencies and have acted for clients acquiring businesses and assets from insolvent companies. I have recently been involved in advising Hughes Electrical on the successful acquisition of the business and assets of Bennetts (Retail) Limited from its administrator. I regularly advise clients on shareholder agreements to ensure that all parties are protected should a change of circumstances occur.

Supporting my clients’ aims

A recent highlight for me was a project for one of our food industry clients. This was a multimillion pound sale of one division of the company, which involved structuring the transaction appropriately to retain certain areas of the business for some of the selling shareholders to continue running in the future. Our corporate team helped the clients to focus on the most important issues and we used our experience and judgement to get the most beneficial commercial agreement for them. As a transaction, it had a wide range of potential issues to overcome, however, we realised a great outcome for our clients.

What do others say?

Chambers UK describes our corporate team as “’Head and shoulders above the rest’ of the competition, Mills & Reeve continues to occupy a near unassailable position in the local corporate marketplace. Given its depth of resources and extensive regional coverage, it is clearly the biggest fish in the East Anglian pond. Peers say they would not hesitate to refer work to the practice, while clients acclaim the ‘advice that is perfectly tailored to our business aims’."

What else should you know?

I regularly contribute to our corporate team’s e-bulletin Corporate Bites. This is a monthly newsletter circulated to clients with short, snappy updates on both practical and technical changes in the law or practice. Its aim is to be relevant to our clients’ businesses on a day to day basis.
