What can I do for you?
My particular specialism, working in our banking and finance team, is advising banks and borrowers within the not-for-profit sector. I support universities, further education colleges, schools, NHS trusts and other charitable bodies in obtaining bank funding. This involves not just advising on the loan and security documentation, but also helping my clients to navigate their way through the regulatory and constitutional issues specific to this sector.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
Our not-for-profit team is able to draw on the banking expertise of our wider team and also the expertise across the firm of working within the health and education sectors. We understand the particular issues facing these sectors, and can ensure that our advice on funding arrangements is both commercial and appropriate.
What do others say?
Our clients regard us as commercial and approachable and have commented that we “never make non-lawyers feel intimidated”.
Chambers UK describes our team as “tremendously proactive problem solvers” and states that I am “eminently reasonable and rational”.
These comments reflect the emphasis within our team on collaboration and working with all parties to get a deal done in a commercial and sensible way.
What else should you know?
I provide seminars and training sessions to our clients and speak at conferences on the particular issues facing the not-for-profit sector in raising finance.
