What can I do for you?
I am a specialist family lawyer and joined Mills & Reeve in September 2006. I was previously a partner and head of the family team at another local firm. I am an accredited specialist family lawyer in high finance and children matters. I advise clients on all family matters including financial disputes between married and non-married couples, and the numerous issues that arise in respect of any children. I have particular interests in children work and in financial cases involving business assets.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
Family breakdown is one of the most stressful life events an individual can go through. I care deeply about achieving the right outcome for my clients and their families, and am committed to tailoring my approach to meet each client’s individual and particular needs. In advising clients about issues involving their children, I endeavour always to remain child-focused. I am an experienced advocate and am comfortable in court, but am committed to promoting negotiation towards agreement, rather than litigation, wherever it is possible.
What do others say?
We are very proud of our family law team at Mills & Reeve. We pride ourselves on giving excellent clear advice tailored to the individual needs of our clients. We were delighted when this was recognised at the Legal Business Awards, where we won Private Client Team of the Year 2009. In addition, Chambers UK describes us as “becoming a truly national player for family matters” whilst “clients appreciate the team’s practical, problem-solving approach and suggest that this is one way in which Mills & Reeve differentiates itself from its competitors”.
My clients have been kind enough to acknowledge the support they feel they have received; for example: “Once again, we are very grateful for your skilled advocacy … we are extremely happy with the outcome.”
What else should you know?
I am a trained collaborative lawyer and am actively involved in both the Cambridge and East Anglian collaborative groups, being co-media officer at the Cambridge Collaborative Family Law Group. I also sit on the Resolution Children Committee.
Within the team we run a website www.divorce.co.uk, which offers free advice to individuals on all aspects of relationship breakdown.
