What can I do for you?

I am a specialist family solicitor with over 15 years of experience. My expertise centres on large asset and complex financial cases involving farms, family businesses and trusts, frequently involving the High Court. My experience extends to enforcement of financial orders, cohabitation disputes and private children act proceedings, including those with an international element.

A large part of my practice involves farm businesses and I’ve drawn on that experience in co-authoring the book Divorce and the Farm.

Supporting my clients’ objectives

We believe that most clients wish to reach a negotiated settlement which is fair to both sides. We know that you need to be listened to in how your case is approached. We do not believe in a one size fits all approach. What is right for one client is not right for another. Some cases can be resolved through negotiation, mediation or collaborative law; others need the involvement of the court. As far as we are concerned, a great outcome for the client is one in which you are fully involved, having received clear and straightforward advice.

What do others say?

We are very proud of our family team at Mills & Reeve. We pride ourselves on giving excellent clear advice tailored to the individual needs of our clients. We were delighted when this was recognised at the Legal Business Awards, where we won Private Client Team of the Year 2009.

Chambers UK acknowledges that the team "offers London-quality service at regional rates". Legal 500 comments that we are "the strongest firm for this work outside London" and “the practice draws on the litigation experience of the ‘first class’ Nick Stone.”

I am also head of our private client services and was named as a "leading lawyer" in the City Wealth Leaders List 2010.

What else should you know?

As well as being a trained collaborative lawyer, I am a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel and Resolution.

Within the team, we run a website, www.divorce.co.uk, which offers free advice to individuals on all aspects of relationship breakdown.
