What can I do for you

Katy is a family solicitor with experience advising clients in relation to all areas of family law, including high value matrimonial finance cases, divorce proceedings and arrangements for children upon separation.

Her financial work has included advising on pre-marital wealth and the division of matrimonial assets, with her cases often involving complicated trust and company structures. Katy also has experience in cases involving financial provision for children and unmarried couples.

In addition, Katy also advises on a range of broad family issues, including private child arrangements, applications for non-molestation and occupation orders, welfare concerns for children and parental alienation. She has a particular interest in surrogacy and fertility law and has advised intended parents following international surrogacy arrangements to secure legal parentage for their children under UK law.

Supporting your ambitions

Katy understands how challenging family matters can be for her clients, both practically and emotionally. Katy ensures that she understands her clients’ immediate concerns and long-term objectives, so that she can provide bespoke advice tailored to her clients’ individual needs. Whilst she has extensive experience of litigation, Katy strives to minimise conflict for her clients and supports them in reaching negotiated settlements outside of Court proceedings wherever possible.

What else should you know

Katy has contributed to the Law Commission’s Consultation on Marriage, responding to proposals to reform routes to legal marriage to better protect against forced and sham marriages. Katy also writes articles in various online publications on issues faced by modern families, including the rights of cohabiting couples and options for donor conceived children. Katy is a member of Resolution.
