Since the start of his career, Neil has specialised in high value/complex solicitors and construction PI (defence and coverage). He also has extensive experience in brokers E&O claims and general PI.
Prior to joining Mills & Reeve, Neil worked at a niche city firm and more recently spent over 4 years at Kennedys. He's also undertaken three London market client secondments.
Supporting your ambitions
Neil is very client focused. He understands how his insurer clients work (which his secondments have helped with) and goes above and beyond for their insureds.
His role involves defence/dismissal of claims, however, Neil is also very commercially focused. He recognises the benefits of early ADR/sensible resolution of claims and likes to collaborate with his clients to find the best strategy for each claim.
Neil enjoys negotiating. He's successfully mediated multi-party complex claims since the start of his career, where he worked on a £250m+ construction dispute that was successfully mediated over 2 weeks.
Recent cases include defending/resolving a complex multi-party solicitors PI claim in which over c£6m was claimed and successfully defending an adjudication brought against a cladding contractor where c£5m was claimed.

What else should you know
Neil "enjoys" running and is passionate about sport. He spent 3 years as a voluntary football coach for a club supported by the Damilola Taylor Foundation and has taught English abroad. He also has a keen interest in politics and has been on the "campaign trail"/involved in anti-discrimination initiatives since childhood thanks to his father!
