What can I do for you

Rebecca is a principal associate in the firm’s commercial disputes team and an experienced litigator with a strong track record across a broad range of commercial disputes.

She specialises in advising on high value, complex contractual disputes and has particular expertise in disputes regarding IT contracts and outsourcing arrangements for clients in the technology and life sciences sectors. Rebecca also has substantial experience acting for government and public sector clients, including advising on procurement related disputes and challenges.

She regularly acts in both County Court and High Court litigation and has extensive experience of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Rebecca provides commercially focused, strategic advice aligned to clients’ wider business objectives.

Rebecca completed a client secondment with Jaguar Land Rover Limited, developing significant experience of working directly with in-house lawyers and non-lawyers to understand the key commercial priorities and risks for the business. During her secondment, Rebecca supported JLR in managing its cross-border commercial litigation as well as intellectual property disputes.

Supporting your ambitions

Rebecca acts for a broad and diverse client base across a number of sectors, including technology and life sciences, health, employment, government and education. This breadth of experience enables her to quickly understand the commercial, regulatory and operational pressures facing clients in different industries, and to adapt her advice accordingly.

Rebecca is known for her ability to rapidly grasp a client’s objectives and the underlying drivers behind a dispute. She takes a clear, strategic and determined approach to achieving those objectives, whether through robust litigation, alternative dispute resolution or pragmatic commercial solutions. Her advice is always tailored to the client’s priorities, balancing legal risk, commercial impact and reputational considerations.

Drawing on her experience working closely with in-house teams and senior stakeholders, Rebecca prides herself on being approachable, responsive and commercially astute.

What do others say

Rebecca is a key member of a very highly regarded litigation team with clients highlighting that "the quality of the lawyers is excellent and they take care to understand the objectives of the client to give frank advice on the merits and risks of getting involved in litigation." – Chambers & Partners.

Rebecca’s individual contribution is equally valued by clients. One commented: “I specifically want to express my gratitude at the level of detail you have provided in such short amount of time… Thank you for your continued support and investment in this case – your hard work does not go unappreciated or noticed.” Another added: “On a sincere note, for our part we could not have asked for better support and it’s safe to say we are genuinely going to miss you. The advice we received, and reciprocal good humour helped remove the sting from some of the darker moments we’ve had to contend with over the years.”

What else should you know

Rebecca is one of the firm’s leads in Legal Project Management, having qualified at both Foundation and Practitioner level in Agile Project Management. This reflects Rebecca’s extensive experience leading complex, document heavy matters and large-scale disclosure and ability to work closely with clients to deliver structured, effective outputs and advice that remain on schedule.

Rebecca also captained the firm's Women’s Rowing crew, who had a hugely successful year winning “blades” in the Cambridge Town Bumps 2018. The success was only made possible by the 6am mixed-crew training sessions, before a full day in the office! The crew's 'trophy' blade, on display in the Cambridge office, is a true reflection of how we 'Achieve more. Together'!

What our clients say about us

  • I think Mills & Reeve are a wonderful firm. The support they have provided to us in a really difficult area has been brilliant, collaborative and commercially minded. The team were absolutely wonderful and a joy to work with. Amazing advice and support and a real collaborative effort with us. I can't thank them enough for getting us through some really tough times and doing so with an amazing can-do attitude.
  • They are friendly, fast, always available and always on top of the game. I tend to judge my legal team against the other side's legal team and never doubt Mills & Reeve is the better of the two.
  • All interactions have been very clear. Responses to questions have always been very swift and unambiguous. Our company, and my family, have used various services in Mills & Reeve with the same level of satisfaction.
  • I value the fact that Mills & Reeve are recognised as a good place to work in the UK Best Companies survey. This aligns with the values of our business and means that Mills & Reeve can share what is required to achieve this status with our business.

As many clients will testify, too many lawyers deliver the required legal expertise but fail to deliver an outstanding client experience. Which is why we always listen to our clients and constantly ask ourselves what we can do to deliver the results you expect.

You expect a close and attentive working relationship, with a lawyer that is responsive and available when you need them. You also want clear, pragmatic and commercial advice tailored to your needs, and transparency and certainty on costs. We completely agree. That’s why every day, through our culture and approach we are committed to delivering the exceptional results and service our clients expect of us.
