Zahra has recently helped a couple with their inheritance tax planning. She established a will structure that could save a considerable amount of inheritance tax on death by including clauses to potentially double up on business property relief and to utilise the new residence nil rate band, even though their combined estate was in excess of £2 million (the threshold at which the relief starts to taper away). She also helped the clients establish several lifetime trusts, so wealth could be passed to the next generation in a controlled way.
